Twelve charities across Shropshire have benefited from the good recycling that residents are doing across the county.
Veolia, the waste contractor for Shropshire Council have given £ 1,500.00 so far to local charities as part of the £6000 Recycling Prize Pot Campaign which was launched last October. The campaign rewards residents that are recycling in the right way by giving them £100 that they can donate to a local charity.
The charities that have benefitted so far are:

Speaking about the campaign, Steve Mitchell, Regional Director for Veolia said: “It’s important for the environment that we all recycle as much as we can. Many residents do recycle, and we want to thank them for that. This campaign is raising awareness of the importance of recycling and is also benefitting the many worthy good causes across the county”.
