Householders in Shropshire are being reminded that their recycling and waste will be collected a day later following Easter Monday – for this week only.
Collection crews will be working on Good Friday so recycling and waste will be collected as normal that day. However, as a result of the Easter Monday bank holiday, collections due to be made from Monday 13th April will be made a day later than normal. For example, collections that would normally be made on Monday 13th April will instead be made on Tuesday 14th April, continuing like this throughout the week with collections that would normally be made on Friday 17th April will be made on Saturday 18th April. Collections will return to normal on Monday 20th April.
Any residents unsure about which day they should put out their recycling or waste, or wanting more information about how to recycle, are asked to check their collection calendar or the local authority website at www.shropshire.gov.uk/binday.
Tim Walters, Communications Manager at Veolia, said: “We are reminding people that their recycling and waste containers will be collected a day late for the week following the Easter weekend. If anyone is unsure when their collection day is, they can also check their collection calendars. Residents are also reminded that they can recycle Easter cards (without glitter) and the cardboard packaging from Easter Eggs in their blue bag.”
