A Christmas Jumper Swap helps to reduce holiday waste by encouraging reuse. Lets reduce, reuse, recycle this festive season.
The Big Picture
- Around 12 million Christmas jumpers are brought in the UK every year, creating unnecessary festive waste.
- This campaign aims to change the conversation by promoting reusing, donating and swapping.
Where To Donate
Drop off your good-quality, clean jumpers at our designated donation boxes:
- Shrewsbury Library
- Shrewsbury Sports Village
- Bridgnorth Library
- Broseley Library
- Oswestry Library
How It Works
- Collection: We will gather collections until the end of November from supporting hosts.
- Quality Check: All donated jumpers must be in good condition and will be washed before the event.
- Remaining Jumpers: Any remaining jumpers after the event will be either stored for next years event or donated to local charities and organisations.
The Event
We plan to organise and deliver a Christmas Jumper Swap event at a School in Shropshire. To enable students to experience reuse first hand and to help them to understand they are part of a community who are working together to look after the environment.
At the event students will be encouraged to bring their pre-loved Christmas jumper either from another student from their school, or from the stock we are collecting around the county.
